"A Great Fantasy Epic"

Great Book = Great Movie

One of my favorite books that I have ever read is The Golden Compass written by Philip Pullman. It is great book! When I heard that they were making a movie adaptation of The Golden Compass, I just had to see it! It comes out on December 7th!

Cast

The Golden Compass is “a great fantasy epic” raves movie critics. It includes a cast of many known stars and some new faces to go along with it. Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Ian McKellen, Eva Green, Sam Elliot, and Freddie Highmore are just some of the stars that are in t his movie; along with a newly discovered actress Dakota Blue Richards as the protagonist of The Golden Compass, Lyra Belacqua.

Here is a list of some characters:

Actor/Actress - Character in Movie

Dakota Richards - Lyra Belecqua

Freddie Highmore - Pantalaimon

Nicole Kidman - Marisa Coulter

Daniel Craig - Lord Asriel

Ian McKellen - Voice of Iorek Byrnison

Eva Green - Serafina Pekkala

Sam Elliot - Lee Scoresby

Christopher Lee - Lord Boreal

There are many more actors and actresses staring in this film.

I have attached a trailer of the upcoming movie and a link to the synopsis of the film, (but be warned, the synopsis may contain spoilers!!!)

I enjoyed the first book. Just remember to research the controversy when advising people about the movie. I read all of the three books and the author's views on God are pretty "out there." In my opinion. He actually bases his book on the "alternate worlds" theories of life that we have many parallelworlds coexisting side by side. And that was fine with me.

In the third book, he has God as an aged angel who is finally killed and "put out of his misery."

I view the books as pure fantasy and am glad I read them so that I can discuss them. I think that one has to be careful with small children who cannot discern fiction from fact and would not understand movie #3.

Also, you MUST include tags on this post if you're going to be found on technorati. One tag should be the name of the movie.

This sounds like a really good movie, I can't wait to see it. I haven't read the book yet, but I really want to. I'm really excited about the movie coming out though. I like a lot of the cast members too, like Daniel Craig. Great summary!
