A National Movie

A Treasured Movie
National Treasure: Book of Secrets is the sequel to National Treasure starring Nicholas Cage. It was directed by Jon Turteltaub and was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. National Treasure: Book of Secrets hit the Box Office at over $55 million. It is the third largest Christmas opening movie, and has so far grossed over $217,518,189. Many historic locations are visited in the film from the White House to Mount Rushmore to Buckingham Palace to Mount Vernon, just to name a few.

The Secret
The journey continues with Ben's family in the search to clear his families name as well as find the City of Gold, Cibole. Mitch Wilkinson (Ed Harris), a black market dealer, has found the missing page from the John Wilkes Booth diary with the names of people who allegedly helped plan the assassination of President Lincoln. Among the names is a Thomas Gates, Ben's great-great grandfather. Ben starts a search to clear his families name with the help of Riley Poole (Justin Bartha), his ex-girlfriend, Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger), and his father Patrick Gates (Jon Voight). They set out on a search that will led them all over in search of clues. With a few failed attempts on his life Ben discovers that he is not the only one who knows what the clues lead to. Mitch Wilkinson also knows about the treasure. The race has begun and leads Ben (Nicholas Cage) to the Presidents Book of Secrets which contains secret documents for presidents eyes only. Unfortunately, the only way to get to the Book of Secrets is to be the President, so Ben decides to kidnap the President of the United States. Along with clearing his name Ben also finds the City of Gold, which holds one of the greatest treasures of all.

The Cast
Once again Nicholas Cage does an excellent job as portraying his character in a movie. Justin Bartha and Diane Kruger also do great jobs in the movie. Jon Voight and Helen Mirren, who play Ben's parents, do a wonderful job playing divorced arguing parents. Ed Harris does an amazing job playing the bad guy. Bruce Greenwood plays the United States President along with many others who also are in the film.

A Great Adventure Movie
This movie was an exciting adventure that kept you on your toes. I even learned things during the movie. Some of the many historical places and events they talked about were things I didn't know. You could say that both the National Treasure movies taught a little something about history. The actors/actresses made the film more alive and the music really made the film exciting. This was definitely a movie I would recommend. If you liked the Indiana Jones Movies than you will be sure to like this one.
