The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

A Magical World

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe the book by C.S. Lewis has remained one of the greatest fantasy titles of all time. The same is true with the film adaptation of the book that was released in theaters in December of 2005. The movie was a box office hit, grossing over $748,806,957 worldwide. The special effects of this movie were one of a kind. And the storyline was very true to the book. This is one of my most favorite movies. I was a big fan of the books. There is a sequel, Prince Caspian, to be released in theaters in May of 2008, and they are working more of the series.

The Chronicles

Four siblings, Lucy (Georgie Henley), Edmund (Skandar Keynes), Susan (Anna Popplewell), and Peter (William Moseley) Pevensie, find the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing hide and seek at the country estate of a mysterious Professor Kirke (Jim Broadbent). Once there, the children discover a charming, once peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts that has been turned into a land of eternal winter by the White Witch, Jadis (Tilda Swinton). Aided by the wise and magnificent lion Aslan (Liam Neeson), the children lead Narnia into a spectacular, climactic battle to free Narnia of the Witch’s power forever.

Magical Creatures and Humans
There were many other magical creatures and fairy tale creatures that also played roles in The Chronicles of Narnia:The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe: James Cosmo, James McAvoy, Kiran Shah, Patrick Kake, Rupert Everett (Prince Charming from Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third), Ray Winstone, Mark Wells, Noah Huntley, Rachael Henley, and Sophie Winkleman.
